Ronaldo and Benitez are not on good terms

Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez could have a serious problem in the dressing room. Cristiano Ronaldo, the leader of the team, has reiterated that there’s a “lack of affection” shown by his new manager, accord El Chiringuito.

The roots could lie in Benitez’s first press conference in Australia, when wouldn’t label Ronaldo the best player in the world. “To say he is one of the best is sufficient, I think,” he said. It’s a phrase the Portuguese player did not like. The Spaniard has since tried to put things right, but it hasn’t stopped the Madrid No.7 having doubts ever since.

BENZEMA AND RAMOS

The same source says that there was also a problem on the day of the official club photo, which took place at Valdebebas at the end of September.

Ronaldo didn’t want to pose with his boss in the official photo, which Florentino Perez was aware of. It’s a situation which makes things complicated for the Los Blancos manager. Since then, he’s also had war of words with Sergio Ramos after the Atletico draw, blaming him for giving a penalty away.

In addition, also coming from El Chiringuito, Benzema was even more angry than he let on after being taken off once again by Benitez at the Vicente Calderon.

Benitez, therefore, has asked for the help of Jose Angel Sanchez, the club’s general director, to help smooth the situation with Ronaldo. However, everything indicates it’s already gone too far and the dressing room problems cannot be solved that easily.

To fix things, Benitez may want to take advice from Marcelo. The Brazil left-back hailed Lionel Messi in 2012, which didn’t go down well with Ronaldo. However, the two now appear to get on fine.

Let’s see how the situation progresses between the Madrid coach and Madrid’s star.
