Rafa Benitez wants Fernando Llorente to be Real Madrid's Plan B

Fernando Llorente has found his name on Rafa Benitez's list as a potential signing for Real Madrid, according to reports on La Sexta. Benitez wants someone as a back up to Benzema and has focused on the former Athletic Club front man.

According to La Sexta, Benitez wants a player who can offer more of an aerial threat, if not from the start, then from the bench, and Llorente can certainly offer that. He would occupy the space left by Javier Hernandez, whose loan move has now ended.

Llorente is ready to leave Juventus after a season which has seen him replaced by Alvaro Morata, who partnered Carlos Tevez in attack in the Champion League final. Tevez will leave for Boca Juniors, but Juve have added Mario Mandzukic to their squad.

There are several offers on the table for Llorente, but a return to Spain is a priority. However, the question will be whether he is happy to take on a secondary role, fulfilling Morata's role at Madrid from two seasons ago.
