Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Angel Di Maria is set to leave the European champions, with Manchester United his expected destination.

Speaking to the press ahead of Madrid's la Liga opener against Cordoba, the Italian said that Di Maria, who didn't train with the squad on Sunday morning, has already said his goodbyes.

Sami Khedira, however, now seems set to stay put at the Bernabeu, despite Ancelotti previously suggesting the German had one foot out the door.

"Angel Di Maria didn't train this morning but he was here to say his goodbyes," Madrid's manager explained.

"It's not official yet but everything is resovled. It was his decision to leave, the club did everything they could to keep him."

Reports leaked on Saturday evening that the Argentine was set to move to Premier League side Man Utd, where he will link up with former Barcelona coach Louis van Gaal.

The fee could be anywhere from €60-80million

As for Khedira, Ancelotti said the midfielder was "happy [at Madrid] and is staying."

It was quite the U-turn from Friday night's comments, when, after the Supercopa defeat to Atletico Madrid, Ancelotti said Khedira had permission to leave and it didn't interest him where he went.
