Muniain: I want to say that the related facts are absolutely false

In a brief statement on his Twitter account, Iker Munian has labelled allegations he is involved in a sexual assault case as "absolutely false".

A statement made by a protected witness and published in eldiario.es on Friday reported that the Athletic Club midfielder had sexual relations with a woman against her will around four years ago

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was also named by the witness as the person responsible for organising the 'sex party'.

De Gea, who is currently with the Spain squad in France preparing for the European Championships, has also issued a denial

Here is Muniain's statement:

Given the information which has appeared today about me I want to manifest:

1. That the related facts are absolutely false.

2. That in the coming days I will appoint a lawyer to defend my honour.

3. I hope that all the fans that have supported me on the pitch have trust in me.
