Espanyol in the Champions League? Anything can happen...

Chen Yansheng, the new owner of Espanyol, spoke exclusively with SPORT after finalising a deal with the Barcelona-based La Liga club on Monday.

Ambitions: The Champions League? The beauty of football is that anything can happen. If it couldn’t, there would not be so many fans. Let’s see in time, but we are confident our cooperation with Espanyol will go well. 

Growth: We have a lot of confidence in the sporting future of Espanyol. They’re a great team and they can grow a lot more, for sure. 

Money: Right now, the main problem is the finances, which we knew from the beginning. But the fans can be calm, we have total security and will be able to resolve it grow together with the club.
