Pedro Rodriguez in London to seal transfer from Barcelona to Chelsea

Pedro Rodriguez will become a Chelsea player. After several weeks being linked with Manchester United, Jose Mourinho’s side have swooped in with an offer which will equate to 30 million euros, which is what Barcelona were demanding.

According to Marca, the agreement between the two clubs and the player was sealed on Tuesday night. Chelsea will pay 28 million euros to the Catalan side, with two million euros more possibly to come in variables depending on appearances and success.

United’s interest had begun to win Pedro round, but he has experienced doubts in recent days. He has not been impressed with Louis van Gaal’s treatment of the Victor Valdes and David de Gea, two players he knows very well.

It’s a blow to Manchester City, who had hoped to lure Pedro if they failed in their attempts to land Kevin de Bruyne, but it’s a bigger blow to United, who had appeared the front runners.

In London, Pedro will join up with his former teammate and friend Cesc Fabregas, who made the same move last summer.
