Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney are NOT wanted by Barcelona

Agents working on behalf of Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata, who ensure they have an official mandate with Manchester United, have said that these two players are willing to end their Old Trafford careers and start a new adventure, away from the Premier League. Given their status, Barcelona would be an ideal destination for them.

The technical comission has not gone further on either of these counts, for example, finding out the prices of each, unlike the way they are treating David Silva and Ander Herrera.

Rooney has been linked with Barcelona before but he is now approaching 30 and has a contract until 2019. Moreover, he will demand a lot of money, and there might not be a place for him in the side anyway.  He has lost his speed and has been deployed as a midfielder rather than a forward on various occasions. 

Juan Mata is not someone that Barcelona want to sign either. In his new era with United he has gained the confidence of Van Gaal, but his desire to return to the Spanish league is known. However right now, Barcelona don't need an attacking midfielder of his type.
