The Barcelona player took a knock to his left ankle during the rondo

He was looked at by the medics but was eventually able to continue training

Spain’s training session featured a moment of tension when it appeared Gerard Pique had injured himself. He suffered a blow to his left ankle in the rondo he was sharing with Ander Herrera, Nacho Monreal, Deulofeu and Iago Aspas among others, and fell to the floor in clear pain.

At first his team-mates thought he was joking but they soon saw he was hurt and advised the medical services who attended to him.

Pique went to the side to receive treatment and after a few minutes he could rejoin the session and continue work.

Spain take on France in a friendly on Tuesday night in Paris. Pique might not start with Julen Lopeptegui aware how much he has played this season, especially with this new ankle knock.
