Thiago Motta is once again wanted by Valencia this January

The PSG midfielder is out of contract next summer and could move in January

Valencia will look to improve their squad in January and their sporting director is working through a list of possible signings to substantially elevate the level of Cesare Prandelli’s squad.

The priority positions are a midfielder and a forward. With respect to the former, one name gathering pace is that of the Brazilian-Italian Thiago Motta, who has previously been linked with Valencia, too.

Motta’s deal at Paris Saint-Germain expires next summer and his entourage have leaked that he doesn’t plan to renew his contract in the French capital. Valencia will try to bring him in from Unai Emery’s side in the winter.

Los Che know that it won’t be easy because there are other clubs interested in Motta, who at 34 could be looking at his last big contract as a professional.

MLS and Chinese football are the principle rivals for Valencia, who feel it’s crucial to strengthen their squad so that Prandelli can move the team up towards La Liga’s European places.
