Sevilla become first La Liga side to start a game with NO Spanish players
Four players from Argentina, three from France and one from Italy, Portugal, Japan & Brazil formed Sampaoli's side
Six different nationalities and three different continents made up Sevilla's line-up against Eibar on Satuday.
For the first time in history, though, a La Liga side began a game without any Spanish players. It only took 14 minutes for Jorge Sampaoli to bring on a Spanish player, however, with Sergio Escudero replacing the injured Adil Rami.
There were four Argentines in Sevilla's side (Mercado, Kranevitter, Correa and Vietto), three Frenchman (Rami, Kolo and Ben Yedder), an Italian (Sirigu), a Portuguese (Carrico) a Brazilian (Ganso) and one player from Japan (Kiyotake).
Due to the busy calendar, Sampaoli made several changes -- seven, in total -- from the Champions League game against Juventus, which ended goalless in Turin.
Those rotations led to an historic XI, with no Spanish players involved from the off. The introduction of Iborra and Vitolo in the second half did mean Sampaoli used three Spaniards during the game, though.
