'Real Madrid criticised because we're the best team in the world'

Real Madrid match-winner Casemiro says they’re criticised because they’re “the best team in the world.”

The Brazilian midfielder scored an 89th minute winner after Willian Jose had appeared to save a point for Las Palmas following Sergio Ramos’ opening goal.

Despite winning, Madrid’s performance was strongly criticised, although Casemiro prefers to look at the positives.

“We know we didn’t do well, but we will take three points,” he said.

“There are days when we’re not able to be at our best, but also it is not easy to play at Las Palmas - they did very well and other big teams have struggled here, too.

“People criticise us when we play badly because we’re the best team in the world.

Despite being 12 points back from La Liga leaders Barcelona - and four off second place Atletico Madrid - Casemiro has not given up on winning the title.

“Of course [La Liga] isn’t lost,” he added. “We are going to fight until the end, even if it does look very difficult.”
