Zubizarreta skirts around the Cuadrado question

Andoni Zubizarreta didn't speak clearly on whether or not, after the signing of Thomas Vermaelen, Barcelona's squad is closed for the summer, leaving the potential signing of Juan Cuadrado uncertain.

Barça's sporting director actively steered away from clearing up the doubts surrounding the situation of the Fiorentina player.

"We must enjoy what there is," Zubizarreta said at first, before later expanding.

"The clubs is very happy with what we have.

"If we can improve the squad, we will do it.

"We always work to have the best possible squad, for the manager to have the best posssible options - we want the best squad on August 31 [when the transfer window closes].

"Football is an uncertain world and the market is still open, but I will not name names."

Cuadrado has been linked heavily with Barça throughout the summer, while Manchester United have also been linked with the Colombian international.

After his performances at the World Cup, though, Fiorentina are thought to be holding out for more money.
