Sergi Samper is on the verge of joining Valencia

Sergi Samper could be the next out the Barcelona exit door as the midfielder nears a move to Valencia.

According to Superdeporte, negotiations are at an advanced stage between all parties and Luis Enrique is the last to give the deal the green light.

Both the Asturian and Samper have opened the door to a possible departure this summer in order for the player to gain more game time and continue his development. But it still remains to be negotiated whether there will be a purchase option for Los Che and another repurchase clause for the Blaugrana.

Samper has already begun pe-season with Barça but the 'overbooking' situation in the Catalan club's midfield will make it very difficult to gain much playing time this coming season. The decision to sign Andre Gomes has all but closed the door on the 21-year-old and a suitable solution for all parties is looking to be reached.

Relations between Barça and Valencia are positive after agreeing the deal for Gomes and Martin Montoya recently moving the other way to the Estadio de Mestalla. Given Los Che could soon lose Dani Parejo to a Premier League club or Sevilla, Samper's arrival is now seen as a priority.
