Sandro free for January move to Tottenham

Luis Enrique has given the green light to Sandro Ramirez’s departure from Barcelona, with the hope that another forward will arrive in January.

Tottenham have been following the forward for several months and there was a meeting last week to find out if the Canary Islander would be willing to move to the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino needs a striker and, as he usually does, would like to take a bet on a younger player.

Barça are open to the idea of Sandro leaving - as long as the offer suits them.

His release clause is 12 million euros and there is more than enough money in the Premier League for that fee to be covered.

Spurs, however, don’t want an option in the deal that would allow Barcelona the chance to re-sign Sandro in the future.

The 20-year-old has had a lot of chances this season, but he has not been able to convince Luis Enrique of his worth.

He didn’t play at all at the Club World Cup and the Barça boss wants another forward to arrive in January - which is why he is happy for Sandro to leave.

The final decision will depend on the offer which arrives from Tottenham and on how open the player is to leaving.
