Romero reveals Argentina squad's nickname for Lionel Messi

The Argentine national goalkeeper, Sergio Romero, has unintentionally revealed the nickname with which the members of the Argentina squad refer to Leo Messi in the changing room.

In the press area after the Copa America game against Chile, which Argentina won 2-1, Romero said "when the '10' is missing, especially in the opening game of a tournament, it is hard. But the lads showed the 'dwarf' that we are in great shape."

The Manchester United keeper spoke naturally and without any ill intent, without realising he was revealing Leo Messi's nickname. As is public knowledge, Messi was already known as 'the flea' thanks to his diminutive stature and surprising ability and talent.

Although as time has passed, and with so much sporting success attained, that name was left behind. Now it seems that his national team mates have found another way of referring to the genius from Rosario.

Meanwhile, Gerardo Martino has confirmed that Leo Messi will be fit to play against Panama in the next matchday of the Copa America.
