Madrid's Sergio Ramos is wanted by one of the candidates to be Barcelona president

One of the candidates running in next month's elections to become the president of FC Barcelona has sounded out Sergio Ramos about a possible move to Camp Nou.

The objective of the pre-candidate is to take advantage of the bad relationship currently existing between Ramos and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. It would be a repeat of the 'Figo Operation', which saw Perez sign the then Barça player to win favour over Joan Gaspart.

Sergio Ramos swapping Madrid for Barcelona is practically impossible, but the defender's representatives appear ready to be used by this pre-candidate during the elections (his name, for now, has to remain secret), so that they can put pressure on Perez to renew Ramos' deal. Ramos has two years to run on his contract, but has been negotiating new terms for a while.

He wants to earn almost double what he earns at the moment (five million euros a season). Talks between his agent, who is his brother, Rene, and the club have stalled, though, and the situation is a tricky one. His relationship with Perez is not great right now.

At the same time, Sergio Ramos also recently showed his disappointment at the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti as Madrid boss. Ramos voiced his support for the Italian through social media, suggesting his unease at Perez's decision.

It looks like Sergio Ramos will be the first 'name' used in the FC Barcelona elections. A similar strategy was used in 2003, when Jaume Llaurado insisted he he had a deal in place to sign Iker Casillas, although Llaurado was never elected.
