Mathieu getting angry at Valencia's stubborness

The situation in Valencia regarding Jérémy Mathieu has become really complicated.

At 30, the player has the possibility of signing for Barcelona being dangled in front of his nose - he has already reached an agreement with the Blaugrana over a three-year deal.

However, Valencia refuse to listen to any of the offers that have been coming in from Barca, instead pointing to the French defender's €20million release clause.

This meant that, on Wednesday, Mathieu had to travel, along with the resf of Los Che's squad, to Germany, where the Valencias are getting pre-season underway.

He went begrudgingly, knowing that Barca are insisting on his incorporation for next season.

The Catalan club began negotiations a while ago by offering €10million plus Cristian Tello on loan, but Amadeo Salvo pointed to the €20m.

Barca then offered €15m, getting the same response from Salvo.

In the meantime, Valencia have accepted a bid of €12m from Bayern Munich for one of their rising stars, the left-sided Juan Bernat.

Mathieu cannot understand why the club have let a talented 21-year-old leave for this price yet they remain stubborn when it comes to him.

Already taking action, Mathieu has met with Salvo several times.

In the meetings he has reiterated that, as he turns 31 in Octover, a move to Camp Nou is not one he can afford to miss out on.

After five years of loyal service at the Mestalla - he arrived on a free in 2009 - Mathieu feels that he has earned the right to clinch a move to Barcelona.

Andoni Zubizarreta and Luis Enrique are still confident they will strike an agreement, but until Salvo accepts a proposal once and for all, Mathieu will continue train on German soil in Valencia colours.
