Official: Barcelona sign Sociedad's Claudio Bravo

A deal has finally been struck between Barcelona and Real Sociedad over the transfer of Claudio Bravo to the Catalan club.

Chile's captain and goalkeeper, who was involved in his country's 2-0 win which knocked Spain out of the World Cup on Wednesday, will join the club for €12 million and, in principle, battle it out with Marc ter Stegen to be the club's No. 1.

Finally, after speculation there would be, no Barcelona player has been included in the deal. It was hoped Jonathan Dos Santos would be involved, reducing the cost below €10m, but the Mexican midfielder was not involved in the end.

However, Dos Santos is still expected to leave la Blaugrana this summer, just not in the transfer which sees Bravo arrive at Camp Nou.

Barca had reached an agreement with Bravo several days ago for a three year contract with an option for a fourth year, and all that had been left to do was to finalise the economics with Sociedad.

Both clubs will confirm the news in the coming hours.
