REVEALED: Neymar injured himself trying to trick Luis Suarez in training with 'sombrero'

Neymar suffered a "small muscle injury" in his left thigh, news confirmed by Barcelona again on Thursday after additional tests. Barcelona had the star checked out again after getting back from Germany where they drew 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen.

As has become habitual, the club are not offering a time of recovery, but given the normal scenario with these types of injury, he has not been ruled out from competing at the Club World Cup - if Barcelona reach the final, on December 20.

The player was injured on Tuesday night during training ahead of the club's Champions League clash, when he tried to do a "sombrero" trick on Luis Suarez.

The squad were taking part in their usual rondos and Neymar tried to lift the ball over Suarez, who ran to intercept it. The Brazilian streched to avoid him but went too far, and in that moment he heard a creak.

He is expected to take physiotherapy sessions on the 12 hour trip to Japan.
