Marc-Andre ter Stegen: Referees are human, like us

"Defensively we worked well but it was hard to get out from the back," explained the German stopper

Barcelona's German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen did not want to talk about controversies after the 1-1 draw at Real Betis.

"I don't like to speak about the referees," he said. "They are humans, like us. The game ended in a draw, and this is what it is. It was a very difficult game, Betis played at a great level, they pressed hard and shut us in very well.

"Defensively we worked well but it was hard to get out from the back. And I think, in general, we had a good game but now we have to see what we were lacking and think about what's ahead. We have very tough games ahead of us and we have to concentrate very hard to keep moving forward."

He added: "We were good at the start and we had chances, also in the final parts, but during the game we lost some control. We always fought but things didn't go as we wanted and like I said, you have to give merit to Betis too."
