Luis Enrique on Wenger's 20 years: Madre mia... that's impossible here at Barça

At the press conference previewing Barcelona's Champions League game with Arsenal, Luis Enrique was asked about the 20 years Arsene Wenger has spent in charge of the Gunners.

"Madre mia... that's impossible here. For me, anyway. In the modern era it is impossible with any coach. It means Wenger's a very good coach, no-one doubts that. To spend so much time at one club is because of his quality and enthusiasm, but for me it is impossible," the Barça boss said.

Luis Enrique continued by suggesting he thinks the shorter the better when it comes to modern football: "I am radical on this subject and would never sign a contract of more than six months...

"Here I have signed for much longer, of course, but coaches need to have that approach. It would be cheaper for clubs, too, as they would not have to spend so much money firing [coaches]. As a manager, if I am not helping my team, it makes no sense for me to be a coach. The shorter the better, the future is moving in that direction."

HAPPY AT BARçA

He was also in a jovial mood when asked if he is happy as Barça. "If any coach listens to me and they hear me say I don't enjoy myself with the team I have, maybe they would hit me in the street tomorrow!" he joked.

"Of course I enjoy myself, but it's relative because after the match finishes you have the press conference, you go home, you analyse, you have a match every three days, you try to improve... it's intense. I try to achieve my objectives, which is to win."
