Luis Enrique responds to questions about Aleix Vidal's situation

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique did not want to speak directly about Aleix Vidal's absence from the squad which travelled to Deportivo La Coruna in the week. But he did answer indirectly when asked about it: "The squad lists and the teams that I decide say enough. I don't tend to publicly comment on my decisions." He couldn't have spoken more clearly.

Aleix Vidal's situation is complicated. He has been singled out by his coach in recent days, both in terms of missing out on the squad at Depor and in Luis Enrique's press conference. The reasons for the full-back's absence in his manager's plans are sporting. In fact, it is a similar case to Marc Bartra, although after not playing for various weeks, the centre-back has been able to convince his manager thanks to his resolve.

Former Sevilla man Vidal, who signed last summer, along with Arda Turan, has not been able to settle in his first season at Camp Nou. A season which he had to wait until January to play any part at all in, due to the transfer ban imposed on Barça by FIFA.
