Jorge Messi: "Leo is happy, but if Barcelona want to sell him..."

Jorge Messi was consulted by 'La Vanguardia' in respect to the quotes which came out from his son, Lionel, on Tuesday, just before the friendly between Argentina and Portugal at Old Trafford.

In the quotes, which surfaced from an interview with Olé, Leo Messi left the door open to a possible departure from Barcelona. He said that his intention is to stay at Camp Nou, but also added that you never know what the future has in store.

His father has wanted to reduce the noise being made about a possible exit - although he too admitted he can't control the board at the club.

"As of today, there is nothing at all," Jorge Messi said. "The thought is to stay here; people have read between the lines and exaggerated.

"Leo is happy [at Barça], but if one day in the future the club say 'we have this offer, we want to sell', then we will study it. But today that is not the thought."

Barça's No. 10, speaking to Ole, was also convinced recent results were not a concern, and that Luis Enrique's side can turn things around and fight on all fronts this season.

On the horizon, though, PSG and several Premier League clubs could be ready to make a move if Barça did decide to sell him.

In any case, said interest has not arrived for the moment, and it seems difficult that a player who, at 27-years-old, still has a lot to give to Barcelonismo - in terms of goals, assists and titles.
