Javier Mascherano will sign his new contract with Barcelona on Monday, that ties him to the club until 2019.
It is an act of protocol, given he agreed the deal a while ago, but there hasn't been time to sign it since. His renovation was announced in July, ending speculation that he was going to move to Juventus.
Like with Neymar, the club and the player had not been able to sort out a date to take the traditional photograph that goes with the signing of the contract.
Changes in Barcelona's board set up and the various international trips for the players meant it was difficult to find a date that suited everyone.
Anyway, for all intents and purposes both Mascherano and Neymar have reached a full agreement with the Catalan club and the terms of the agreement are already reflected on paper.
