Iniesta tells Matuidi he thinks Verratti could succeed him at Barcelona

The PSG midfielder has revealed a conversation he had with the Barça captain

Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta could see a simple chat on the field of play come back to bite him.

The guilty party is PSG’s French midfielder Blaise Matuidi, who’s revealed a conversation he had with the Spain midfielder last week at the Parc des Princes.

It seems that, among other things, Matuidi, in an interview with France Bleu, spoke with Iniesta about his possible successor at Barça.

In the interview, which has been picked up by Le 10 Sport, Matuidi says that the two shared a few words about Marco Verratti.

“When Verratti was on the floor, I said [to Iniesta] he was his replacement. He said to me: ‘Yes, that’s what I think,’” Matuidi said.

Verratti has been followed by Barça for a long time and was one of the key players as PSG took the Catalan side apart last Tuesday.
