Halilovic admits he wants to play back at Barça next season

Alen Halilovic was very clear when it came to speaking about his future after visiting Camp Nou as a Sporting player on Saturday. The Croatian has spent the season on loan at the Asturian club from Barcelona, but he knows where he wants to play next season: back at Barça.

Halilovic was interrogated about the possibility of another loan, after a successful season at El Molinon. His answer? “Now it’s too soon to speak with Barça, because there are still three games left and my priority is to keep Sporting safe, but I want to return to Barça.”

On his experience with Sporting, he added: “I am really happy in Gijon, because I have played nearly all the games and that’s what I wanted. I wanted to play football so that I can come back to Barça.”

In his analysis of the 6-0 defeat to Luis Enrique’s side, he was very critical of the referee Clos Gomez. “We are devastated to have lost 6-0, because in the first half we played really well. In the second half, the referee was really bad. There were four goals which shouldn’t have been given - that’s a lot.”

Halilovic recognised, though, that it was always going to be difficult to get points at Camp Nou: “Barça are the best team in the world and we knew that it was going to be hard to get anything. Now we must focus on beating Eibar.”
