Gerard Lopez to continue with Barça B as club back continuity

Continuity. That's the summary of what will happen on the benches at La Masia - for the professional and the amateur teams - next season. From Barça B all the way down to pre-Benjamin, all the coaches will stay the same.

The only small change there might by is in Futbol7, where there could be changes between the teams to avoid managers spending too many years with the same team. But they would be very minimal changes.

In general, there is satisfaction with the work being done by all the coaches. The only doubt was Gerard Lopez, the Barça B boss. His team have had a bad season and there have been some moments which haven't gone down well - such as when the golfer Sergio Garcia took part in training or when his sessions lacked intensity.

But Gerard Lopez is a personal bet of Josep Maria Bartomeu and now is not the time to look back. The impression is that from next season onwards, though, much more will be demanded from him.

Elsewhere, there are no doubts. The Juvenil A team, for example, were expected to have a difficult season, so Gabri's role is not under pressure. And from there down, the results vindicate the work being done by all the coaches.

PABLO MORENO: CADETE A?

If it's all clear in the case of the coaches, the same can't be said for the players. There's still a lot of work to be done here. FIFA's ban means that teams that normally only have 20 man squads now have squads of up to 25 in the 11-a-side teams, while at seven-a-side, some teams now have 14 or 15 players instead of the normal 10 to 12.

It means there are going to be many departures. Jordi Roura and Aureli Altimira have work to do. In addition, there will be signings, too, and some players will move up age groups.

One of the cases being studied at the moment is Pablo Moreno. The Infantil A player should play for Cadete B next season, but the club are seriously contemplating the option of putting him straight into the Cadete A team. Moreno is one of the stars of La Masia and could already be ready to play with the second year Cadetes.
