Cuadrado reckons "there's still time" for Barça move

Juan Guillermo Cuadrado has said that "there is still time" for him to clinch a transfer from Fiorentina to Barcelona before the transfer window shuts.

The Colombian international has been linked with a move to Barça all summer, and he has insisted, in an interview with Italian newspaper 'La Nazione' that his hopes of securing the switch are not over yet.

"Nothing has closed yet," Cuadrado claimed. "There is still time."

Fiorentina's reluctance to sell for less than €50million has been one of the main reasons the deals hasn't got over the line, but the 26-year-old is pressuring them to reduce the price.

Barça are not ready to pay anywhere near that price, instead offering €35m for the right-sided player, whose contract in Italy runs until 2017.

The Blaugrana are keen to take advantage of the final days of the transfer market to continue to strengthen their squad, keeping in mind that a transfer ban from FIFA means they'll be unable to sign players until 2016 after the current window shuts.

Cuadrado has been an objective all summer, but Fiorentina's stance has made the deal impossible.

Just one thing could now, once again, open the door to a possible transfer between the Catalans and the Italians: Cuadrado successfully getting Fiore to drop their price.
