Cristian Tello's dad confirms Porto move

It is not yet official, nor do we know whether it will be a transfer or a loan, but Cristian Tello will play for Porto next season.

If the operation had been kept fairly secretive until now, the player's father, Joaquin Tello, has now broken the silence in comments to 'Maisfutebol'.

"Cristian is happy and eager to show Porto what he can do," he said.

"We are ready to pack up our suitcases and say goodbye. He will arrive in Portugal by Tuesday."

Joaquin was adamant that his son will do well at Porto.

"Cristian will take this opportunity," he continued. "Porto are a big club anywhere, one of the greats in Europe."

He also hit out at former Barça boss Gerardo Martino for not giving Tello a chance last season.
