Colombia's goal scoring defender has already been tied down by Barça

Yerry Mina scored an important goal against Uruguay and there is already a deal in place

There were two main characters in the game between Colombia and Uruguay on Tuesday.

Barcelona's Luis Suarez was one of them with an historic goal which took his country a little closer to the World Cup in 2018 and Yerry Mina was the other, scoring a late goal to earn his side a draw.

The young Colombian centre-back, 22, is a player Barça have tied down after closing a deal to have first option on him in a nine million euro deal

Mina, a defender with technique and pace, made the difference with his height (1.93m) as he scored a decisive goal for Colombia against Uruguay. The Palmeiras centre-back, who joined the Brazilian club from Santa Fe, has been good throughout this week's qualifiers, starting against both Paraguay and Uruguay and forcing himself into Jose Pekerman's thinking.

Barça continue to monitor his progress closely. They already tried to sign him for Barça B this season. However, in the end they were forced to change their intentions and agreed a deal which would allow them to sign him from next year on for nine million euros.
