Chelsea make contact with Jorge Messi as they consider Leo transfer move

According to radio station RAC1, Chelsea have contacted Jorge Messi, father of Lionel Messi, to put forward the idea that his son could play in London next season.

The station say that Chelsea have been in contact to ascertain the exact position of the Argentina star in the current situation, his differences with Luis Enrique and the dissent that has arisen between Messi and the club's directors in the last two years.

Chelsea would be willing to pay the €250million clause of Messi, aware they would be signing the best footballer of all time, and the talisman of the best Barcelona side in history.

They would be getting a player, at 27, in his prime, who could find new sporting challenges at Chelsea, and prepare for his dream of winning the World Cup in 2018.

As well as these problems with Enrique and the board, there's also the issue of the tax case that he has to explain to the Hacienda. Messi has paid €53m to the taxman, but he and his father are still required to explain themselves to the Spanish justice courts.

Moreover, Messi has an excellent relatonship with players at Chelsea, especially Cesc Fabregas, whose partner Daniella Semaan is a close friend of Messi's wife, Antonella Rocuzzo.

And to make matters worse, Jose Mourinho, the "black beast" for Barcelona, is the man trying to lure Messi to Chelsea.
