Busquets holds his hands up after poor display in Vigo

The midfielder admitted he was partly to blame for a secnd successive defeat at Balaidos

Sergio Busquets is aware that he’s not in his best form and assumed responsibility for his role in Barcelona’s 4-3 loss at Celta Vigo.

“I’m one of the culpable parties. It’s clear it wasn’t one of my best games. The errors in the middle of the pitch penalised [the team] a lot. I have to work hard and keep improving,” he said.

The midfielder was critical on a personal and a collective level, but he added: “We’re not robots or machines, sometimes you mess up because you don’t have control or you’re not well-positioned.” He admitted that they made things easy for Celta in a first half which they “had started well” but the first goal “penalised us a lot.”

However, like his team-mates Gerard Pique and Andres Iniesta, he wanted to highlight “the character to try and turn the game around” and assured everyone will have to continue working hard “to once again be the team that’s won so much these last few years.”

Now comes the international break and Barça are back in action in La Liga on Oct. 15 against Deportivo La Coruna.
