Bartomeu: They can't beat us on the pitch so are trying off of it

The Barcelona president blasted Javier Tebas and the disciplinary commission in his speech at the AGM event

FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu hit out at the club’s enemies on Saturday morning as he spoke at the AGM for club members, held at the Palau Blaugrana.

On the first point of order of the day, Bartomeu hit out at Javier Tebas, the LFP president, for his recent criticism of the players’ behaviour in the goal celebration at Mestalla last weekend.

“I want to start my speech making reference to the attack of Javier Tebas and the Disciplinary Commission,” said Bartomeu. “It’s an example of what people who should behaviour responsibly should not be doing. We will not allow ourselves to be attacked.

“We are fed up of campaigns that distort reality and link with partisan campaigns. We will not stay silent.”

The president is convinced that “They want to win off the pitch what they cannot win on it,” highlighting that Barcelona has no equal on a sporting level and that those who want to take their dominating position in football want to do so via offices instead of on the pitch.
