Barcelona will play Jornada 10 against Getafe on August 26

FC Barcelona's quest for six titles over the course of the next year means their calendar will have to be adjusted. As they are playing in the Club World Cup in Japan in December, they will have to change their fixtures.

Therefore, the RFEF have had to re-adjust the calendar so that Barça can play December's league fixture against Real Betis at another time.

According to Onda Cero, that means Jornada 10's game against Getafe will now become the club's second fixture of the season. With La Liga due to start on August 22-23, Barça will then play their 10th scheduled fixture on August 26, leading to a busy start to the season.

That game was due to be played in October, but will instead become a Copa del Rey slot, which would also have been due to be played while Barça are in Japan. As for the Real Betis game, that is expected to be played in February.

This is how Real Madrid's Club World Cup participation was dealt with last season, too. They played Cornella in the Copa del Rey at an earlier date in October, with the December league fixture against Sevilla then played in February.

So, during the first nine weeks of the season, Barcelona will have played one game more than the rest of the league, with the exception of Getafe. It means they will have the chance to maintain a three point lead over their rivals if the season gets off to a good start.
