Barcelona will offer Marc-Andre ter Stegen new contract until 2021

Barcelona's confidence in Marc-Andre ter Stegen is total. The Blagurana are betting on their goalkeeper strongly after rejecting a big offer from Manchester City this summer for him and allowing Claudio Bravo to leave for the English side. Barcelona have started the process of renewing Ter Stegen's contract until 2021. The idea is that he gets a bigger salary and also raises his minimum fee release clause, which currently is 80 million euros. Both parties want the deal to happen.

Ter Stegen's errors have not affected the club's thought process at all. They signed him for his potnetial, his agility betwen the sticks and his good play with his feet, a set of abilities that few goalkeepers have. His profile is perfect for Barcelona who play with the defence high up the pitch. Ter Stegen takes risks and that's what they ask of him. In the dressing room he's loved for his passes, a big factor in many of Barcelona's goals.

The game against Celta Vigo was not his night, but the German took responsibility for the defeat after the game, something also valued in the dressing room. In fact, the squad have come to his defence in a tricky moment. Barcelona believe he is the man for the future - and with a new contract that will be confirmed.
