Barcelona target Argentine defender Rojo

Marcos Rojo is the latest defender to come into Barcelona's orbit this summer.

The Sporting Lisbon and Argentina defender, who made this rabona clearance in his country's opening World Cup game against Bosnia, could be one of the new faces in a rejuvinated Barca squad next season.

Rojo, 24, can play as a left-back or as a central defender and is strong, good in the air and also has a good shot from distance in his armoury.

And Luis Enrique could be interested in bringing him to Camp Nou for the new season.

While it is true his best position is currently covered by Jordi Alba, the new Barca boss feels the advantages of having a player who can play across the back four are unquestionable.

The Argentine started his career with Estudiantes, before moving to Russia where he played with Spartak Moscow for one season.

In 2012 he moved to Portugal and he has been a Sporting Lisbon player ever since.
