Barcelona have 15 days to decide if they want Ezequiel Lavezzi

Barcelona have 15 days to give a response to PSG and Ezequiel Lavezzi over their intentions. The club must take a decision over the forward, whose contract expires in June, which makes him a good option in the winter window.

Robert Fernandez has control of the situation, and the player has a profile that fits what he's been searching for. An accessible option (he would cost around €5m), with interest in joining, even in a secondary role behind the trident.

Luis Enrique knows first hand the state of negotiations, but still has not pronounced whether he wants the player or not - his first option has always been Nolito, but the Argentine forward is a much easier operation. The coach has to take a decision soon, so the player and his agent can find another option in the market.

Barcelona have priority, because that's the player's first option, and he likes the idea of playing with his good friends Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano. The player has a good salary at PSG and Barcelona would have to pay around €5m a season to him.

Lavezzi, who turns 31 on May 3, would sign for two and a half seasons.

Juventus and Inter Milan also want the player and if Luis Enrique rules out the operation he will likely return to Italy, where he played with Napoli - scoring 48 goals and giving 61 assists in five season - and is highly rated.

Di Maria effect

The former Madrid player arriving and taking up one of the midfield wide slots has reduced the need for Lavezzi at the club. From his arrival at the club, "Pocho" has seen new forwards come each year. Lavezzi competes currently with not only Di Maria, bu talso Edinson Cavani, Lucas Moura, Ibrahimovic and Javier Pastore.

He has played 15 times this season, scoring 2 goals for Laurent Blanc's team. He has decided to leave and both he and PSG are happy for him to go in January.
