Barça reveal Bravo suffered calf strain in Real Betis win

Barcelona have confirmed that Claudio Bravo suffered a calf strain during the Catalan side's 2-0 win over Real Betis.

Luis Enrique's side maintained their place at the top of the table with the win, but the match ended in disappointment as the Chilean was forced off.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen, on his 24th birthday, replaced him in goal for the final few minutes of the game.

Here is the statement Barça released on Saturday night, which explains tests on Sunday will reveal if and for how long Bravo will be out of action:

"FC Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo suffered a calf strain in his right leg towards the end of Saturday’s game with Real Betis. The Chilean called to be substituted by Ter Stegen with just a few minutes of the match left.

"Further tests on Sunday should reveal the true extent of the injury. Until now, Bravo had played all 34 league matches this season, conceding just 23 goals."

Barça are back in action against Espanyol in the Catalan derby at Camp Nou next Sunday.
