Arda Turan: I thought, if I play really well I'll sign for Barça; if I play well, Arsenal
Arda Turan has given an interview to Diari Ara, in which he has revealed he always felt he had a chance of one day signing for Barelona.
"I felt that I would sign for Barcelona. Honestly, I thought: If I play really well, I will end up signing for Barça, because my style suits theirs. If I play well, I will end up at Arsenal," he said.
"For my style with the ball, playing simple, aggressive when necessary, but above all because of my quality, I knew I could make it here to Barcelona."
During the interview, Arda was also asked about Lionel Messi. The Turkish international responded: "Everything about him is incredible. He's so quick at everything, control, dribbling, going into challenges...
"But the most important thing is his tactical intelligence. He is incredible, he surpasses everyone. He is a really intelligent footballer."
Asked if playing with Messi has validated his decision to sign for Barça, he didn't agree. "No, I am here to win the Champions League. Leo, for me, is the best player in history, but I came here to win titles."
