Andoni Zubizarreta comes up with excuses for Barça's dropped points

The disappointing result at the Coliseum was a surprise. Nobody expected Barcelona to drop points against Getafe.

Sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta was quick to offer excuses after the game as to why Barça had been unable to score in a match played under pouring rain in Madrid.

"We struggled to adapt to the time [of the match] and the state of the grass, which was too quick and didn't help," Zubizarreta said. 

However, he did admit that Barça didn't know how to inject pace into the game. 

He's not worried too much by the result, though, and expects Luis Enrique and his players to continue improving as the season goes on. 

Zubizaretta also credited Getafe for their performance.

"They worked well and denied us any space," he concluded. "But these are things that happen in la Liga."
