UEFA reach solution over Champions League and Copa America clash

UEFA and CONMEBOL have reached a solution for the problem of the Champions League final clashing with preparation for the Copa America

The finale of Europe's premier club competition takes place in Berlin on June 6, while the South American international tournament starts on June 11 in Santiago.

National sides want their players available in the weeks before the tournament, but the likes of Lionel Messi, Dani Alves, Neymar, Marcelo and so on, may have a Champions League final to play.

Representatives of both sides met and agreed that players who have reached the final would be allowed to join their national sides after the game.

UEFA were thankful to CONMEBOL for allowing the situation to be resolved agreeably.
