The five biggest errors in FIFA 17's player ratings revealed

People are talking about FIFA 17's player ratings. The popular video game has come out with some surprising picks which may have more to do with commercial decisions than footballing ones, like giving Cristiano Ronaldo a higher number than Lionel Messi. The top 50 players, as pictured here, have many absences...

Where is Gerard Pique?

One of the strangest absences is Pique. The Barcelona centre-back, one of the best in the world without doubt, is not included on the list of the top 50 players. Meanwhile Jerome Boateng is not the best in the world, but in the game he is, while neither Chiellini or Hummels have been better than Pique but are still ahead of him.

Koke, absent.

The Atletico Madrid star is not there. If Blaise Matuidi is, then why not Koke?

Old glories

Should Arjen Robben still be in the top 50? The Dutchman never plays, because of injury, and is more known for his physical problems than his football these days. Buffon and Cech are still rated highly too...

Dybala, Sterling...

These two stars miss out while the likes of Robben are included.

Bizarre statistics

If we look deeper than the overall rating, things get even more confusing. Sergio Busquets has a passing rating of 79. Meanwhile Cristiano Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic have 81, while Kevin De Bruyne has 84 and Dimitri Payet has 87. The funniest thing is that Payet's 87 is even ahead of Leo Messi's 86.
