New Newell's Old Boy president targets Lionel Messi return

Lionel Messi has never hid the fact he would like to return to Argentina when he's finished competing at the highest level in Europe.

Knowing this, the new president of Newell's Old Boys, Eduardo Bermudez, knows what his objective is as he begins four years in charge of the club: to bring the best player in the world home.

"In these four years in the club's offices, to fulfill my dreams, Messi will return," he said. "The first thing we have to do is get the club in order, though. Therefore, we will get to work on that and tomorrow I will tell you who will be the manager."

Bermudez, who earned 30 per cent of the votes, added: "It's a moment of great happiness [to be elected], it was a really tough campaign. I played for the youth teams here, the first team, I was vice president and all that I lacked was to be the president of this club."

Remember that Messi has made it clear on more than one occasion that he'd be delighted to return to the club he played for until he was 12. However, he still has plenty more years ahead of him at Barcelona.
