Free transfers XI: Alves among stars going for nothing in summer

Free transfers XI: Alves among stars going for nothing in summer

As well as Dani Alves, there are various players across Europe who will be available for free this summer.

There is not long to go now until the market is open again and it is currently the players whose contracts are running fown whom are receiving the most attention.

The website ‘fantagazzetta’ has named the players who are free to be snapped up, and from that list we have chose out best XI.

In goal is Beto. The Sevilla goalkeeper has still not signed a new contract and is free to listen to offers from other clubs. At 32, he is a stopper with a lot of games under his belt and offers experience and quality.

Dani Alves occupies the right-back position. The Brazilian will be, without doubt, one of the most talked about footballers over the coming months. Barça want to renew him but will not give in to Alves' demands. For that reason, the 31-year-old's agent is listening to offers from other clubs -- such as Paris Saint-Germain

In the middle of defence are two players with a lot of experience. Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa) and Kolo Toure (Liverpool) will be free at the end of the season and no doubt clubs will be keeping an eye on them. Louis van Gaal wants Vlaar at Manchester United having previously worked with him when in charge of Holland.

Glen Johnson, normally a right-back, is on the left, a position he has occupied for Liverpool before. Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with him in the past, but he's likely to end up at a more modest club.

In the middle of the park we have opted for Sami Khedira as the defensive midfielder. He will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season. Chelsea and Bayern Munich were rumoured to be interested, but his level has dropped in recent months and a move to Schalke 04 seems the most probable at the moment.

Stephane M'bia, of Seville, and Yoann Gourcuff, of Marseille, are just in front of Khedira. They are two different players. M'bia is physically very good, while Gourcuff stands out for his skill and ability to find space.

On the wings we have put James Milner (Manchester City) and Yevhen Konoplianka (Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk). Milner can play all across midfield, while Konoplianka has been called Ukraine's Lionel Messi and possesses great pace.

Finally, the central striker is Andre-Pierre Gignac of French side Marseille. He's scored 16 goals this season for Marcelo Bielsa's side, but he may not hang around after the summer.

Since January all of these players have been able to negotiate with potential suitors. Let the bidding begin.
