Former Barça youngster Joan Roman joins Sporting Braga

Joan Roman will be presented this Monday as the latest signing for Portuguese outfit Sporting Braga, on a three-year-deal.

The 22-year-old midfielder arrives at Sporting on a free, hoping to take a forward step in his career by playing in the country's top flight.

The Catalan player arrives at the club after being brought through the Barcelona academy, but was involved in Barça B's relegation to the Segunda B last season.

De Roman can play both as a central midfielder or a winger, as well as being two footed. He also has experienced of playing abroad after spending some time at Manchester City after joining from Espanyol.

After having no luck during a loan spell with Villarreal, Joan Roman returned to Barça B to captain the side which was relegated. Now he will hope to move forward and take advantage of the opportunity to prove he can play at the top level.

Sporting Braga finished in fourth place last season and therefore qualified for the Europa League.
