Brazil want Neymar to press Barça to play at Copa America

Dunga hopes Neymar will do everything in his power to play for Brazil at the Copa America, between June 3-26. He will be going to the Olympics in Rio in August. Luis Enrique recognises that the opportunity to compete there is unique. He did it in person at Barcelona 92, where he won gold. Neymar going would mean he could not hypothetically play in the Spanish or European Super Cups, should Barcelona win a domestic or European trophy this season.

In the meeting between Dunga and Luis Enrique in Barcelona last week, they spoke about the crack's physical state, fatigue and mor, to try and determine if he would go to the Copa America or not. The atmosphere was good, and they will meet at the end of April or the start of May to discuss the matter further and take a decision. Until then, Dunga and the Brazilian football federation want Neymar to work hard, speaking to Barcelona to try and get to play in both tournaments.

For now. he's done his part, saying in public he would like to play in both. This is the least Dunga and the national team director Gilmar Rinaldi were hoping for. Brazil can call Neymar up for the Copa America whether Barcelona like it or not, because it's a registered FIFA calendar tournament, but at the same time they could then stop him going to the Olympics. An example of the good harmony is Dunga offering Barcelona a plan which would see Neymar train in the way Luis Enrique wants his players to in pre-season.
