Argentina were the better side in the Copa America final, says Martino

Argentina national team coach Gerardo Martino has spoken of the strength of both Copa America finalists, and that the two cancelled each other out. But his team played better.

"I feel very sad, we deserved a little more, but we lost. Equally, the defeat doesn't mean anything with regard to the future. I will continue with these 23 players, adding some players that weren't here."

"Neither team shone, there was not a fluidity to the game and we failed to make the most of the three chances we had."

There were "clear chances that could have changed the face of the game," relating to the opportunities for Lavezzi and Higuain. Martino thought that the two teams "cancelled each other out," but that his side was "superior" to Chile.

"Today's game doesn't change anything. We are going to keep trying in the same way with these footballers, who are currently crying in the dressing room," Martino stated at his press conference.
