Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were always going to have a big role to play in Sunday's Clasico. However, in the end it was Messi that took centre stage with his goals and his celebration.
During the game, though, with so much going on, one image went almost unnoticed. We're talking about the one featuring Messi and Ronaldo, rivals on an individual level and a collective one. An image that we also saw in the first Clasico this season at Camp Nou, thanks to SPORT's exclusive photographs.
And on Sunday it was repeated: Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo once again proving that their relationship is cordial, despite any thoughts or reports otherwise. In the minutes before kick off they were photographed embracing each other.
