Novak Djokovic squeezes out Roger Federer in US Open

In a thrilling US Open final, Novak Djokovic saw off Roger Federer 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 at Flushing Meadows.

Federer fought back after losing the first set but seemed to perform better when the pressure was off, failing on a couple of big points.

The Swiss star was roared on by the crowd and dug deep to find some extra energy reserves, nearly taking the game into a fifth set, but in the end the imperious Djokovic steeled himself and sealed the final set.

It would have been among Federer's most impressive comebacks if he had managed it, but in the end the Serb deservedly earned victory.
