Sergio García: "It's an honour to captain Espanyol"

The Espanyol forward Sergio García has said it’s an honour for him to captain Espanyol again. The player said he would do everything he could on and off the pitch “I will help the team however I can.” It is hoped that the player will be a leader in the dressing room.

He explained that he has been welcomed back after a two-year spell at Al-Rayyan in Qatar. “They have treated me very well since the first day”, he said.

He had stayed in contact with his former teammates during his time in Qatar but nevertheless he was happy “to have integrated as quickly as possible. It’s always more difficult when you’re new but it’s a lot easier having been here before”.
